And trying to solve the problem without changing the status quo!
THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!
Something has to change. We, as a population, have to change our habits. Industry, on the whole, has to revamp business plans. Technology has to ramp up to find and implement viable options to carbon based fuels. This much is obvious.
Meanwhile, we have to work with what we have and get our own oil out of the ground and use it. The response won't be immediate, but it will be there. Drill and it will come down.
The liberals and tree-huggers in the world don't like this idea and make all kinds of wild claims. But few of them hold water. Add to the mix that technology and standards have advanced greatly; drilling and pumping of minerals out of the ground don't make near the impact today that they used to make.
However, these same liberals and tree-huggers also claim that our government isn't doing enough to help the poor and needy in our country. What they want is for the government to hand out cash. That is a travesty. Give these people the jobs and teach them to support themselves! Jobs in the field that are paying $20-$30 an hour, the jobs in the refineries, the jobs on the pipelines, trucking, and all the support positions that pop up in a healthy economy.
What?
People can support and provide for themselves?
Well, now, sputter, sputter... We need them to be totally dependant on US and rely completely on US and, and, and, let us think for them. They can't think for themselves. They can't. They simply can't because then... the liberals would dry up and blow away.
Irving Kristol said it best when he said that a conservative is simply a liberal that has been mugged by reality.
We need to stop depending on others and start depending on ourselves. Wholly on ourselves.
