How I see it...

Laying in my hammock, sipping an adult beverage, I contemplate the deeper issues and finer points of this world and my life. I reach well informed opinions and share them here. Being mostly Irish, I can argue either side of any issue; but you throw the Swede in there and I become a very stubborn, stoic, stick-to-my-values type of person.

Whatever were they thinking?

So, the fine, fiddling folks in Washington are set to go home and enjoy a nice Easter with their families.

They are also going to leave our fine fighting folks far from home dangling in the wind.

The Democrats and a few Repugnantkins are trying to force the President's hand and either get him to sign the pork spending bill and recall the troops (although it is non-binding) if he wants to fund the troops; or to veto it and hang the troops out to dry by also vetoing the funding. You can also bet a big jelly donut that the liberally slanted media will have a field day either way he jumps. I think it would be kinda slick of him to recall them to emergency session until the situation is resolved. Not patched, but resolved in its entirety.

This is all playing nicely in to Rep. Murtha's plan to force us to recall our troops and slowly cut funding for the war. Actually, the plan might even be a workable one if it were done correctly, not as an attempt to show how strong the Liberals are and how bad they can beat the President.

The City of San Francisco has finally found a way to save the world: they banned plastic bags. Now, didn't the whole plastic bag thing get started on the left coast because we were killing trees? So, now I assume that they will want us to use and re-use cloth sacks or something. Have you ever tried to shop for a family of six for a month with a cloth tote?
